Frigiliana is a whitewashed mountain village, pueblo blanco, in southern Andalucia, of exceptional beauty and charm, with a population of around 2,600. It is located
7 kilometres
north of Nerja and 56 kilometres east of Malaga International
Airport. The white houses are perched 435m above sea level in the foothills
of the Almijara mountain range, and has the most spectacular views of the Higueron river
gorge, mountains and coast.
Due to its unique geographical position, the village has a very special micro-climate, with an average annual temperature of 18C.
The locals are extremely proud of their village and this is reflected in the numerous awards they have aquired - Regional Award of Beautification 1961 & 1967, National Award for Beautification (First Place in all of Spain) 1982
